How to Request a Flight
Mission requests are received from a coordinating agency reachable directly or through Air Care Alliance. A person requesting a flight from Kid's Wings is typically referred to the appropriate coordinating agency. These agencies coordinate flights across regions and provide back-up flight support as well as handle liability and medical waivers. Kid’s Wings may also be contacted directly.
Qualifications for passengers
Passengers must be ambulatory and require no more than minimal assistance to enter or leave a small airplane and not require medical care en route.
Oxygen can be used if provided by the patient and administered without flight crew assistance. Small, collapsible wheelchairs and other equipment may be accommodated at flight crew discretion.
Passengers must be medically stable and able to fly in unpressurized aircraft.
Child restraint devices (car seats) are not required but are suggested. If they are used they must conform to FAA regulations and have the following two labels:
1. "This child restraint system conforms to all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards"; and
2. "THIS RESTRAINT IS CERTIFIED FOR USE IN MOTOR VEHICLES AND AIRCRAFT"
Booster seats are not approved. Unapproved seats may be carried in baggage if there is room.
